Beyond Pleased to See Our Children Succeed

We are BEYOND pleased to see our very own children succeed at school and progress through the different academic levels they are pursuing. Each year brings great celebration and admiration as we witness how we continue to live out our mission and vision: ensuring every child receives a proper education that prepares them to pursue their dreams and build a better future.

This year is particularly special as some of our children are preparing to graduate from one academic level to another. We celebrate five children who sat for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), four children who sat for their Ordinary Level examinations (UCE), and one child who completed their Advanced Level examinations (UACE).

In Uganda, primary education typically takes seven years. At the end of Primary Seven, children sit for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which mark an important transition into secondary education.

Secondary education has two major stages: Ordinary Level (Senior One to Senior Four) and Advanced Level (Senior Five to Senior Six). Our four Senior Four students sat for their Uganda Certificate of Education examinations, marking the completion of Ordinary Level education.

We are equally proud of our Senior Six student, who sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations. This is a significant milestone towards university education and the pursuit of even greater dreams.

Our joy is not just in seeing the children succeed and achieve their academic goals; the profound essence of it lies in recognising how far we have come on this journey alongside them. These children have demonstrated an immense level of determination, and despite their sad stories and the challenges they have faced, they continue to believe and hold on to something so vibrantly beautiful and immeasurable: hope.

Their stories continue to shape the ladders they courageously climb, taking them from one level to the next. For this, we are profoundly grateful. Above all, we recognise that God has played, and continues to play, the most fundamental and important role in our lives.

We understand the journey, and seeing the children graduate from one level to another is a testament to a vision fulfilled and a mission accomplished. Each passing year reminds us of the transformative impact education continues to have on the lives of these children. Those who joined us without the ability to write can now write, while those who initially struggled to speak English and carried fears about what their future stories would look like are now beginning to see those stories take shape.

More importantly, Enock’s journey has been nothing short of miraculous. Witnessing him sit for his examinations is more than just a success story, it is a prayer answered by God. Living with sickle cell disease made many of us anxious and fearful that he might experience painful crises during his examinations. Yet, despite experiencing a few attacks throughout the examination period, he remained determined and made it through.

Enock successfully completed his examinations, and for this, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to his school and the clinic that responded promptly whenever he needed medical attention, ensuring that he could return to his examinations. His journey is a powerful reminder of resilience, faith, and the extraordinary things that are possible when determination, support, and God's grace come together.

Behind every examination is a child with potential, a dream worth pursuing, and a future waiting to unfold. We celebrate their hard work, the dedication of their teachers, and the support of everyone who believes in the power of education.
